This was in the Warner Robins SUN on May 2, 2002.
They put the title: "They still have hope"
and left out the hymn and scripture references.
Dear Editor,
I am a 35 year old wife and mother of five beautiful children. I have been a
Christian since 1984, and my husband and I became Baptists in 1991 since we were
baptized in a Baptist church and became members there. We have been active since.
In 1994 we started homeschooling through our local Central Georgia Christian
Home Educators and I met my wonderful Catholic friend, who is the mother of
nine beautiful children. Her and her husband are truly an inspiration. Recently
my friend and I began a theological discussion via e-mail: Sola Scriptura,
Sola Fida, faith & works, Purgatory, the Eucharist etc. It may surprise readers
that we have said little about the scandal up north. It really has no bearing on
doctrine. People sin no matter where they go to church. [Rom.3:23] Leaders fail
whether or not they teach what you believe to be right doctrine or not.
My Catholic friend believes those pedophiles can repent, but they'll have to
"take a bath" in Purgatory before entrance through the Pearly gates. I believe
the Good News from the Bible teaches that the blood of Christ can cleanse away
all sin and when (and if) those pedophiles repent and are born again of the
Holy Spirit [John 1:12-13], they'll be washed completely and be able to enter
Heaven when they die. "What can wash away my sin? nothing but the blood of
Jesus, what can make me whole again? nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh!
Precious is the flow that makes me white as snow, No other fount I know, Nothing
but the blood of Jesus!"

In January my friend Sandy started a group for mothers of big broods in Christ
(MOBBIC). We meet once a month, laying aside our theological differences and
share and encourage each other as moms. Sandy has also had #10 since this was
written! I have the smallest "brood" in the bunch with only five!
